Diocese of Norwich Diaconate

The Fall Retreat for Deacons and Wives is Scheduled for September 14-16 at Immaculate Conception Retreat in Putnam.

The cost of this retreat is $175 per person.

Diaconate Ministry in the New Evangelization - Deacon Richard Santello

Deacon Dick Santello is a deacon of the Archdiocese of Hartford and has been the leader of the pre-ordination retreats for many of our classes.  Dick is the retired director of the diaconate for the Archdiocese of Hartford, he also served as the President of the National Association of Diaconate Directors, a consultant to the US Council of Catholic Bishops Committee on the Diaconate, and a member of the Board of Delegates of the Internationales Diakonatszentrum, Rottenburg-Freiburg, Germany. Dick is now assigned full time as a member of the parish staff at Saint Anthony's Church in New Haven. 

Dick's spiritual style and call to prayerful reflection will be a blessing to all who participate.  Please make this retreat a part of your spiritual retreat plans.

The retreat will begin  on Friday night at 7:00 PM and end after lunch on Sunday.

A CHARITABLE OUTREACH TO NEIGHBORS IN NEED

Dear Diaconate Community of the Diocese of Norwich

Thank you for your support to the Haitian Health Foundation.

I recently returned from Haiti where I had the opportunity to place plaques on some newlyconstructed "Happy Houses" and take some photographs. I am happy to enclose pictures of a family and their new "Happy House" built through your generosity. I have also enclosed a photograph of the before house.

This family was living in a "hovel" of cardboard and thatch. Your kindness and sharing has allowed us to build a clean, healthy, cement block house with a tin roof: windows, and doors. It is a "mansion" by comparison.

Thank you again for giving this family a new home, and providing them with a healthier, happier future.
